The Calla Lily Collection is inspired by the beauty of the calla lily flower. The architectural, curving shape of the flower is strong, yet suggests an intense
sensuality. The flower is associated with weddings as is symbolic of purity and innocence.

"I was thinking of the romance of weddings and how bouquets often use flowers which carry symbolism. I remembered a picture of a woman I had seen holding
her bouquet of calla lilies. She was classic, timeless, and modern all at once. There is something so alluring about the billowy flowers and arching stems which feel contemporary, yet still utterly romantic."

The simple dish is perfect

"The simple dish is perfect to help people not lose things like rings, keys and even phones. We were discussing where someone puts their rings while cooking. I asked my daughter to look and see if Michael Aram had anything to hold rings. She found several pictures of marble dishes like the one I bought for her and we were both delighted when it came. The only thing she did say was that it was bigger than she had expected and she might end up using it as a candy dish! As long as she is happy, I’m happy!"

Q&A

“There is a tremendous reflection of our own humanity in handmade objects When you make things by hand, somehow that energy, that tension, that passion, all gets absorbed into the object Objects are powerful They trace history, trace our passage through time, they capture memories for generations.” ~ M.
