Worth every penny
"This ornament immediately caught my eye when I was browsing Bloomingdale’s ornaments online. I decided to purchase it directly from the artist’s website instead. This ornament is the start of my forever collection as an adult and my vision is that hopefully one day I’ll have a family tree I can hang this on and remember my intention when I bought it every year when I take it out of its box and feel so thankful my dream came true. This ornament holds so much meaning to me personally, not only because of the myth of Persephone which is my favorite, but because of the craftsmanship and the quality. This is the ornament I’m going to build my family and memories around. It’s so beautiful and so unique. It makes me think of my Nonna who grew up as a poor immigrant during the great depression and ww2 and was happy to simply receive an orange for Christmas but then lived out her childhood fantasy through her grandchildren and gifted us beautiful ornaments every year and made Christmas magical. It makes me think of my dad who was at his best during the holidays and who I’ll never spend another Christmas with. It makes me think of the cul de sac I grew up on and how touching it was to receive a plate of cookies or gift basket on Christmas Day from my neighbors and feeling that comforting sense of community. Sometimes I just open the box to admire it. I can’t wait to add more Michael Aram ornaments to my collection."
