Thorn Table Lamp

Michael Aram Lighting is a series of unique decorative objects that celebrate Michael's profound appreciation for intricacies found in nature. Drawing from his background as a sculptor, each piece is a hand-crafted interpretation of natural life, infusing an earthly element into any interior space.

The Thorn Collection is inspired by the stem of a rose. Strikingly elegant, but treacherous to the touch, a rose thorn is symbolic of both passion and protection. As the pernicious thorns protect the delicate beauty of the bloom, we are reminded that everything beautiful, however determined, needs safeguarding.

"For me, these 'Thorn' pieces feel seductive and dangerous, while at the same time exude so much charm with a sense of fantasy. I love representing natural forms in my work which are often ignored or discarded."
